Acrylic Felt Fabric by the Yard

Our acrylic felt fabric is a non-woven material available in two thicknesses and 24 distinct colors overall — 23 colors in 1.6mm and 4 colors in 3.2mm — at 72 inches wide, sold by the yard. This soft, flexible acrylic felt cuts cleanly without fraying and is suitable for school crafts, table covers, poker table surfaces, decorative felt fortune cookies, upholstery accents, and other decorative projects.

Choose Your Piece Length

Fabric is supplied in the length option you select. One 5 Yard option with quantity 1 arrives as one continuous 5-yard piece. The 1 Yard option with quantity 5 arrives as five separate 1-yard pieces.

How Much Felt Is One Yard?

At 72 inches wide, a single yard of this felt measures 72 × 36 inches. That is a large piece compared with the pre-cut felt sold in craft stores, and it is why buying by the yard works out cheaper for anything beyond a one-off project.

• One yard cuts into roughly 24 sheets at 9 × 12 inches — the standard craft-store sheet size.
• Or roughly 18 squares at 12 × 12 inches.
• Because felt is non-woven there is no grain to line up, so you can lay out pieces in whichever direction wastes the least.

Working With Felt

• Cutting: Sharp scissors or a rotary cutter both work. No fraying means no hemming, no serging and no finished edges to plan for.

• Gluing: Felt takes fabric glue and hot glue well, which is why it is the default material for no-sew projects.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does acrylic felt fray?

No. Felt is non-woven — cut edges stay clean without hemming or serging. This makes it one of the easiest fabrics to work with.

What's the difference between 1.6mm and 3.2mm felt?

The 1.6mm felt is soft and flexible, not stiff. The 3.2mm option is thicker and available while supplies last. EOVEA will continue to offer 1.6mm felt after the remaining 3.2mm stock sells out.

Can I sew this felt by machine?

Yes. Use a universal needle (80/12) and slightly longer stitch (3.0-3.5mm). Felt doesn't stretch or shift, making it beginner-friendly.

Do you sell felt sheets or squares?

We sell felt by the yard rather than in pre-cut sheets. One yard gives you about 24 sheets at the standard 9 × 12 inch craft size, so it is usually the cheaper way to buy if you need more than a handful. You cut them to whatever size your project actually needs.

Is acrylic felt the same as wool felt?

Can I use this felt for a pool table?
